Day 1 xmas eve

Upon reaching Hong Kong, alicia was not really in her best behaviour. As she could not stand heat, and when she goes to a shopping centre, she start fussing that she is hot with all the warm clothes.

So basically we were just taking out and wearing shoes. And a lot of people were asking isnt she cold?? Haha u dono her enough...

We check in and got ready to go visit around.We went to Victoria Peak to celebrate christmas. It was a beautiful view and it was really cold!

Its really high, COLD and beautiful.

We also went to the wax museum but didnt get to take photos with the camera phone.

You can also see xmas choirs everywhere. Its really interesting!

Pre Hong Kong

Its been a long time since we travel and daddy and mummy is determind to bring Alicia to go overseas as she has never travelled before.

So after waiting for 4 years we decided this year xmas to be a different year. We packed pur luggages and Alicia took her first flight to overseas.

My Handy Helper

With my maid gone now, we are on our own to clean up the house.

Mummy in charge of sweeping the floor, washing the clothes and cleaning the toilet. Daddy in charge of ironing and folding the clothes. And Alicia? She is mummy's handy helper and she is in charge of moping.

And mummy nv torture her or child abuse her. She fights to mop the floor. At least for now........

Art and Craft

Qiqi really like art and craft. Her teacher even commented she enjoys a lot and make sure she colors and does a good job which others at her age dont. I guess this does have some genes similarity with his dad.

I bought her make some art and craft at nex while we were waiting for daddy. She tolds me the old one at home is spoil already so we need to make another new one.

Last day of school

For memory purpose, this post came in real late but yet essential that we cannot miss it.

We have left enrichment classroom and on to Agape!
Reason being it has always been straining to pay for everything now and soon auntie's contract is going to end and if we renew her mummy could no longer afford it. Besides that we have to consider next year the timing will change and afterall mummy hopes i can learn more lifeskills too. If mummy wants to put me to a longer timing childcare mummy have to do it now before all the spaces run out.

With me now much stronger, mummy decided to try childcare again so our financial problems will be less straining.

Of course with such a good school, it will be wasted to let it go thus mummy have enrolled for me an additional weekend class to let me continue my phonics class which it will help me gain the skills of reading faster. Cross fingers all work out well!

3rd Day of School

Its the 3rd Day of school and Alicia is starting to adapt Agape.

She calls the school "Bear School". Although she crys a little here and there, it was still manageble. We are just keeping our fingers cross every single day.

Monday although is a monday blue for us but it seems good for her at school. The curiculam was pretty fun esp there was gym kids for her so to her it was a lot of fun.

When we went to pick her up, she was in all smiles. Hope this goes on and on.

The teacher even tie a scorpion hair style which was cool...

Ok! Time to go home!

Childcare at Agape

Alicia started her childcare at 1 Dec 2011 at Agape. This is first day of school and alicia woke up earlier than usual.

The children were watching tv and some were having breakfast. The bad part i think about this school is they like to drown the children with tv programs and the whole morning it was almost just tv, national anthem and karaok. It was quite dissapointing that they can do a lot of things instead like morning exercise, read a storybook, talk abt safety, teach children songs and nursery rhymes. They gave me the feeling like they were passing by time with no plan of what they want to do. The teachers can do things halfway and suddenly switch to another activity. It let me remember the days where qiqi was in first skool and i try not to think abt it. I just had to keep telling myself its dec and they have no curriculam to teach the children.

But of course yet it was still not as bad as first skool experience but its just that alicia previous preschool really spoilt the market and they were really good i just cant help comparing.

Sigh...no choice..Last year my expectation to the school is education is very important but nw childcarin is also important thus i couldnt be fussy and pick on it. It let me wonder are all childcare like that? I decided to close two eyes...

Of course they arent all that bad.. I personally find the school makes a lot of effort decorating the school making it bright and cheerful. They even have a website for the parents to view what the kids have learnt or doing at school.This was a plus point. They even create a file for all the children with a lot of pictures of the past half year and their progress. This i nv saw it at first skool nor kidzone,

And there are so many fun trips for the children every term which is also a plus point cause i wan alicia to enjoy and love her school. Thus i decided to press on. Hopefully after the transit is over, it will be much better. Press on! Qiqi and mummy!

Big Walk 2011

Its the first time participate in walk event. Dont think we have the staminar to run thus walking should be fun. Besides, this year is walking to USS so it will sure be fun to be able to go in again.

We reach arnd 6.30am and there were so much people.

Well we also told alicia there are too many pple and we cant bring the pram thus Alicia walk the entire Big walk which was applauding.

End of the journey, everyone was just plain exhausted.

I believe everyone has their own style of dressing up their children and their own set of prettiness of defination. Thats why some like to get this and some like that design. For me, this was the prettiest qiqi at her casual self which i bought the clothes for her. Fyi i hardly need to buy clothes as she got lots of hand down clothes and gifts.

I really like this match. Not too drama but look very sweet and a ballerina liked that she wore this she was so happy dancing around like this on top.

Then she go all posing around with her cute moves.

No need expensive clothes for children. She just look so cute and sweet like this

Its pizza time again!

Its pizza time again and decided to let qiqi do some diy cooking.

It was actually quite easy and fuss free. Just buy the ingredients and cut them in small pieces, then use ur imagination or preference and mix and match. Here is the end result. Bottom mine, middle qiqi and top is daddy's!

After 10 min of baking, we can enjoy the pizza.

Withdraw qiqi out of Letterland sch

It is with a heavy heart that in a few hours time, i will be submitting the withdrawl of school for Alicia from her Letterland school.

During alicia toddler years she went to kidzone for childcare but little emphasis was on the education. Most importantly was she was able to learn some discipline and life skills. Unfortunately she kept getting sick and we had to keep her at home which help and now she is almost declared asthma free. We employed sutikah and thing was pretty smooth till nursery 2 this early part of the year we had to put her bac and learn something. She went to pap then first skool but none of them the syllabus i was satisfied as she didnt learn anything at all. Until we decided on Enrichment classroom.

She quickly adapted over there and i cannot disagree the english and math syllabus was very good. Alicia was actually learning way beyond K1 now. She was actually of her future school syllabus.

Sadly the chinese syllabus was pretty weak thus we supplement with tien hsia. Without a doubt all the money was all worth it.

Every Monday we will look forward her taking art and crafts bac and we will paste them on the wall. She made many friends there and she will tell who she played with.

But coming to the end of the year, mummy have to start thinking and decide for Alicia. Sutikah contract is going to end and we will hv to raise her salary. Together with all the rising cost, we could no longer afford the luxury now we have. If we will to even stick on the current situation, mummy is hoping to get another sibling for Alicia and even with a maid, Alicia will still have to be in a childcare as its difficult to handle 2 children at 1 time. By then it will be too late to find Alicia a school as she will be K2 and childcares will be difficult to find.
We just have to make this decision now while there is still a seat for Alicia. Thus we decided to go for Agape just downstairs our house, since alicia was an infant, mummy has always wanted to put alicia in as the syllabus they provide are interesting but it was way too expensive thus we had to travel far just to put her in but after the calculations after 2 years we can afford now as it worth it if she can learn something over there. There will be complimentary enrichment classes provided like abacus, phonics, chinese speech and drama, gym stuff so all of them its pretty worth it.
With is impending change, we will loose sutikah, enrichment classroom and tienhsia. The current method which is working but soon to loose it because of financial problems. To be frank till now my heart is pretty heavy for this decision that i make.

God! Please dont let me make the wrong decision! Please Alicia love this school and make friends. Please let her learn more than what she does now. There is no turning back for us now . Please! Make it work! :(

As time goes by, her class starts to get larger and larger.

Education trip at Kids Kampung

Every semester, alicia's school will arrange a school trip for the children and the parents get to tag along.

This semester they went to kids kampung and it was fun. All the kids get to learn the kampumg animals and do lonkang fishing.

They get to see up close and touch and play with the animals which i find the trip pretty good cause i have never seen ducks and kampung eggs. Its a trip i think mummy get to learn too. I look forward for another trip again..

Happy 4th Birthday Post 3

This is the first time we celebrate Qiqi birthday together in her preschool. I remember last time when she was in Kidzone child care, I prepared some balloons and goodie bags but I can’t remember why I didn’t celebrate with a cake with her friends. This year I make sure she didn’t miss it as everytime she tolds me how she got goodie bag and celebrated for this friend’s birthday and etc, How she play “Princess or Mummy and Daddy” role play with another friend, I sure wana meet them and see them who they are too. This also gives me a chance to see how the teacher teaches them in the class.

To prepare this day, I went online Party City to get Hello Kitty balloons, plates and goodie bag, candles via overseas cause in Singapore it’s really expensive to get from the stores.

When Alicia was in her assembly with the other kids, she saw us in the classroom with cakes and goodie bag she was thrilled and showed off “Today is my Birthday.” The teacher brought them in the classroom and all sang a birthday song for her.

Let me introduce Qiqi class mates cum friends in school. Starting from the left

Mckayla, Darell, Levonne, MayZin, Kazel, Ashley, Daniel and not forgetting Teacher Ai Lin. These are her favorite friends at school that you can hear her talk about them sometimes out of the blue at home. It was a fun day with the kids.

After school, we brought Qiqi to an indoor playground and let her play to her heart contents and sure indeed we had a hard time persuading to move the 2^nd destination when the playground was closing.

Our next destination was Robinson, was something that I have been aiming for so long but Singapore didn’t import till few days before her birthday. It was like meant for her fated just before her birthday to reach Singapore. It was Leapfrog leappad. It’s a game controller that teaches educational games and looks like an Ipad. The games will let her learn phonics, math, alphabets and so many other things. It was a very good learning device that allows her to play and learn at the same time. After much decision, Daddy and Mummy decided to buy for her.

And finally the day ended at Swensen as Alicia wanted ice cream, showing off her present, we had an unforgettable and enjoyable day.

外婆requested to hold a mini celebration for Qiqi’s birthday this year again. Everyone contributed some food and it ended up with so much food to finish.

啊姨 and 外公 decorated the house with balloons and Happy Birthday banner. We all have birthday hats to wear.

Baby Candice also starts to walk around and play with Qiqi.

Mummy also brought a new Princess dress for me and I love it so much.

To match my Hello Kitty theme I wore a white Hello Kitty blouse to match the dress. And of course the Hello kitty cake that I choose, we celebrated it with joy.

August 23^rd is one of the days I look forward every single year for Alicia, even my own birthday was not that important. I recalled when I was young, I long for a birthday party every single year and only when I was Primary 2 then I get to invite 2 of my closest friend over to my house for a mini birthday party. It was one of a childhood memory that I didn’t forget. The photos when you are young let u remember the good old days when we were celebrating and I hope to take this photos so she can remember how everyone loved her and celebrated her birthday. Birthday parties are a joyous event and never failed to make the birthday girl/boy smile when they blow the candles. Not only the birthday girl is happy, her friends are happy to receive goodie bags and presents. The joy and happiness from the children is something money and not enough time can’t buy. It was something worthwhile to make the effort and let everyone be happy. It’s a memory I hope to give her so she can remember that she have a happy childhood and flip through the photos and tell her how mummy and daddy loves her.

And of course from 3 years old onwards, Alicia is equally excited as me or maybe more excited than me that I don’t even dare to mention to her for worried she will feel sad when the day has not arrived. She can even remember her last year’s birthday having a Barney cake. This year she would like to have Hello Kitty cake thus mummy made a Hello Kitty theme for her. Since July she will ask me when her birthday is, and then I will tell her you have to wait for Jeijei’s birthday then Philip birthday then Mummy’s birthday then it’s your birthday. When it hasn’t reach, she will get sad, sometimes angry sometimes overjoyed as time its reaching… And she keeps asking me this question till finally August came and she starts to see me preparing her birthday party when I purchase her goodie bag items and birthday party things. This year she gets to celebrate twice with mummy’s family and another with her lettterland friends which I will blog in another post celebrated at her actual birthday.

It is also the day she was born and let me remember the day where from the time my water bag broke, feel the labor pains, unable to come out and in to the operation day. The first look when I see her is how much she looks like her daddy. It was a day I hope I will never forget. This year it Is also a year where all parents will say, “This few years of age is the happiest , wait till they grow older they will not even want you to be around“ Indeed you never fail to make me happy every single day which I hope you will prove the other people wrong and grow up still loving us like always like now.

And if one day, she would see this blog, I hope it will tell her all the interesting things she have done and never failed to thrill her mummy. I also hope to tell her to be a filial daughter, be respectful to elderly, be courteous, and most importantly study and work hard in whatever you do. Make sure every action you decide you do not regret, and even if you do, learn from it and do it better the next time.

Kiasuism Mummy

For Alicia, i would walk around the neighbourhood and personally go to the child cares or preschools to check on the place, what she will be able to learn and the enviroment she will be in. Previously for her preschool studies she transferred from PAP to my first skool. Both disappointed me and finally decided to move on to the present preschool The Enrichment Classroom which has a good education syllabus which i see results from her maths and english after 6 months. However their Chinese wasnt strong enough thus i supplement her with tien hsia which now Alicia can recognise many chinese characters. Although all adds up left mummy with no spare cash to spend for herself, the result is all worthwhile.

As she is reaching 4 years old, in 2 years time she will have to prepare Alicia for primary school. After further considering, i decided to try Rulang Pri School. Coincidently we stayed within the 2km zone. Its either we start PV nw for a good school or we just settle her a normal school. Mummy decided to try...

To be their PV sure is nt easy. Every year they only chose 50 and last year there will 300+ PVs. You have to fill up a set of PVs form and answer questions how u can contribute, then at the end of the pv intake will be asked for a interview. Even if u will selected, you might not have a guarantee space. But if we don try, guarantee there wont be a space. End of the day if its not meant to be then we will accept it. At least we know we have tried but if we did get it,I wont expect Alicia to get fly high marks but i know i have provided her at my capabilities the best educational enviroment and its all up to her potential to excel for her future. Bon bon... We love you..

Just received news Bon bon passed away just hours ago on 19/08/2011.

I still recall when she was just a little puppy on the first day. She was still so small, white and wobbly... She accompanied me thru my teenage life, marriage and motherhood. Whenever i am at my mil house she accompanied me and play with me and always plead me to sayang her. Although she was not my dog she was part of my life like a loyal friend for 12 years... She became not just a dog.. I was glad alicia get to know her and i hope alicia will not forget the little bon bon when she was young.

This incident reminds me something i forgotten.

Love and hug your close ones like you never before. Treasure them while they are still alive. Talk to them like you never talk to them for a hundred years. For death is sudden and you would not want to regret not giving more when they are still around. If i knoe this day will cm so fast, i will sayang her more and play ball with her once more. For now we are only left with memories. Rest in peace.....

Tien Hsia Term 2

Bella's birthday

Cupcakes fun 2

Decided on a second cupcake session, this time auntie priscilia and samuel also baked together.

We made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes as well auntie priscilia famous butter cake.

When all is done we took out for decoration.

It was fun...

With the remaining whipped cream and ingredients mummy decorated the cake with a happy face!

Cupcakes fun

Mummy always wanted to try make some cupcakes and have fun with me. So slowly started to buy ingredients and decided to make today.

Unfortunately our vanilla essence is spoilt so there was no vanilla taste so we improvised and put half od the cupcakes with milo taste.

While waiting for mummy to whisk the mixture, i add my pressed bento breakfast.

Once all is done, we start design the cupcakes with color icing and all sorts of color rice and sm figurines.

It was so much fun that i design 8 cupcakes.

Mummy bento hobby

Lately mummy is into bento making as i am required to bring lunch box to school so she wants to make my lunch as attractive and cute as possible.

As time goes by her accumulation gets bigger and bigger and this is her current stuffs she have. But still hope to get more and hopefully make even more full use with them.

This was done last year -fried rice and its definately not as attractive as the pros but we will try again next time.

Finding a School-- Part 2

Going through all the changes for Alicia’s preschool education was tiring but when you see results coming from her. The effort becomes all worthwhile. I have a friend whose child is already Primary 6 (Currently is the A class) tells me, a child education starts from the very beginning. If you give her a good base or a good environment, she will nurture better if she chooses to. You cannot help her to study or learn but you can give her a good environment where opportunities will present to her. Then once you think you have gave her your very best, it is up to them to choose to learn as much as they can or neglect whatever it is going on. This is where self discipline comes in. If you observe Alicia now, you will see that she is very enthusiastic going to school participating the activities and if you are observant, you will see that she can grab the skills very fast through Multimedia learning and Learn thru Play. Currently is her prime time to absorb as much as possible thus if we can give as much as we can, she will learn more.

Within ½ year since she started at 3 years old, she starts to write ABCs, know all her 26 phonics letter sounds, spell her name, write her name, recognize around 10 Chinese characters, write 1,2,3 in Chinese, read out loud/sing Chinese poems all results coming from classes which I have very good impression on. Of course, we should never take for granted just throwing them into classes expecting them to do results. I make every effort or time whenever possible to revise with her and when she returns to classes, she has no problem remembering them.

There are people who tells me when we were young, not much emphasis was put on education, everybody goes to P*P and grows up well but now out there , there are so many better private ones which can educate and provide the children more. I am not against to P*P but my focus is on the curriculum which is very important to me and how the teacher’s can guide the children or show a good example. Having changes to so many schools and visiting almost all the childcare/preschool near my home allows me to see the differences and style how they handle children or if the teacher is out to wait for time to pass by or a eager passion to pass down her knowledge to children.

I shall state an example how I feel of a good teacher can give good results. I have experience coming from the same school 2 different personality teachers. In the first trial was taught by a bubbly happy teacher, dancing around with children, reading aloud, very caring, sweet, and while the children are doing the hands on paper, she will make every effort to see the teacher are doing it right. Just 1 lesson, she can remember Alicia’s name when she is not at school when we saw her somewhere else. However as the time was not very convenient, we choose to put her on another timing with a different teacher, this teacher is a very quiet teacher, not much dancing, read aloud was involved ( I like to peep at them how the teachers teach), the teacher was fidgeting at her nails waiting for children to finish the hands- on. The children were at their own doing the paper. Lesson was finish in less than the promised time and I was so pissed, the children were playing toys at the mid of the lesson. The teacher was walking in circles waiting for the time to pass. Seriously my head was fuming; I pay so much for you to accompany my daughter to play toys. I never employ a nanny for goodness sake! My house has dozens of toys to play. My first instinct was to change back to the other teacher. So far the bubbly happy teacher was the best teacher Alicia have encountered and she has so much good Aura around her that you will feel happy too talking to her. You can feel there is a passion to teach and you can see Alicia really enjoys her lesson when she is teaching jumping around, reading aloud. The end results in 3 months, she can memorize 2 poems from her school’s file, recognize 天，上，下，大，小，水，妈妈，爸爸，花，草 and etc.. When you read a simple Chinese book with this letter she can help you to read too. She understands Chinese better and we hope she can improve with more to come.

Next it’s a preschool for Alicia, attending the weekend Phonics class let us realize she can absorb very well in Multimedia learning, it attracts her full attention as she wishes to participate where they have a hands on pen to touch the screen. The software they used are very colorful and attracting and just Letterland itself has allow her to learn the essential alphabet, the phonic sound and how it is written. It basically covers English on what she needs to learn. Mainly the attractive point of this preschool is the multimedia learning and the constant updates and details what they will be teaching the children, they tried to make sure they speak proper English to the children and the curriculum is very enriching as it focus on the basic things she requires in the future especially English and Math. Going one big round of changing schools and visiting, we decided this is the only place where she loves and allow her to learn to her maximum. Although my savings may start to grow lesser and I will not be able to enjoy or spend using the additional cash I left in my salary, I believe it’s all worthwhile and I can be at a peace of mind that she is at a good preschool which I do not worry throwing away the money.

With the current daily preschool covering well English and Math, and Tien Hsia covering Chinese, I do not need to worry her education for a short while till I find better ones.

Ps: All this are my personal opinion for Alicia and it does not apply to other children or parent’s opinion or concepts to upbringing their children. Please do not get offended in any way as I just want to blog in her blog as part of her childhood life.

School choosing...

To me, a good education means very important to me. I strongly believe a good teacher which can motivate you will encourage u to study better. I personally encounter very good teachers in the past where they motivate me to learn better and love the subject. Thus I emphasize a lot on giving the best I can to Alicia even if it means sacrificing my own pocket money or even savings to provide her a better education.

Last time when she was with kidzone, my emphasis to the childcare was she enjoy staying in there and feel happy. No stress as she was too young to understand thus a happy place to be in is my concern. Indeed the teachers over there are caring and she like her friends over there but the expense of her constantly sick lead us to withdrawing out for a year. She stayed home during her nursery 1 days.

When she hits 3 years old there were subjects where she is old enuff to attend so we enrol her to phonics. Over there she is exposed to Letterland where she masters all the phonics sounds in 3 months. This makes me realise her potential to absorb like a sponge right now with the right teaching and opportunity, she can learn them like a flash.

Its very encouraging to me whenever i see results coming from her that the effort of putting her a good school is worthwhile. Not necessary a branded school but one which can attract her and teach her well.
When 2011 draws near her time to return back to school is important as her potential to absorb daily will help her to learn more. We as parents are so tempted to put her to letterland school which she can learn more over there but its even more expensive than a full time childcare thus we decided to put her to P*P which was the initial plan 1/2 year ago.

As a parent, i often like to observe how a teacher teach, whether she can capture one's attention and motivate them to remember. Sometimes those good ones will also teach me how to teach her at home thus helping her to remember better. Going to her P*P for the first 2 days gave me a rough idea how the teacher will teach.

The children was buried with toys without any schedule or plan what to do next. The teachers speaks broken english language u wont expect in a school but more like from a conversation chit chat. There isnt any plans what to do that few days although the timetable was properly scheduled. This prompt me to find another preschool for her, I cannot accept a teacher teaching her like some auntie where I can teach better than her. Sorry to be rude but imagine that bad! Coincidently 1st school call me that a two year waiting list finally reach my turn. Imagine how lucky we felt coincidently at this timing. We decided to enrol her bac to a CC. Qiqi stayed at P*P for 2 months, during her last months for no reasons she started to hate going to P*P, and says she hate the teacher. So we put a sound recorder inside her bag and found that they did not follow the timetable and they will playing for an entire 1 hour which I was pretty pissed for not teaching.Next we found that she was in a malay class which prompt us to terminate her notice period immediately. Reason why she could be inside was she was serving her notice period and the rest of the chinese children has moved to morning sessipn. Till now,she have phobia of the word P*P and school.

Next at 1st school, our first day was dissapointing once more. Alicia nursery 2 has a capacity of 36 students. Although it is said to be 3 teachers taking care, many of the times there will only 2 teachers, the CC is like a market. Constantly the teachers have to shout at students for doing other things as I felt there were too many children to take care. The kids have to rotate the class to different parts and the kids will loose concentration and do other things or go other corners. And when sometimes the crowd is too big, they gave up and dont bother and carry on the lesson. Looking closely at their timetable, they are very pro thematic learning which they have very little exposure to the alphabets or numbers which is essential in pri 1. When they r suppose to learn the alphabets, the teacher ended up singing songs which leave me wondering the only time they have to learn the important stuffs they will singing songs, the curriculam was worse than kidzone.

On the very day, she had some fish allergy and the remarks from the form teacher was they cant do much as there is fish 2-3 x a week and she wont be able to avoid. She wasnt even interested to try to help me think of an alternate solution which leaves me very dissapointed with the school. 2nd day of school, qiqi came bac with swollen eyes and she was ask to go home. We suspect could be she cried in the morning unable to wake up or due to a fish allergy but they cant accept her till we get clearance from a doctor.It was very dissapointing experience that we terminate on the 3rd day and didnt return.

Ok.... Will continue on the next post on our final decision for her final school.... Which everyone is happy with it and can foresee to stay on for some time....

Pizza time

Decided to create an activity for the whole family to participate, have fun and dig out all the creativity mummy decided to buy lots of pizza ingredients and a pack of pita for the whole family to make their own pizzas.

With all the ingredients in hand, we put on our thinking hats and cooking hands and design our own pizzas.

We had so much fun and daddy in fact couldnt stop and run out of pitas

So we used bread and made really a lot.below is just 30% of it.

Once all are done we were really hungry and dig in. Next time we should do it again!

It seems that when kids turn 3 years old they start to role play. Alicia is one of them too.

Lately everyday she will take out all the chairs and sit some of her favorites toys,on the piano rythm and start dancing.

After that she will stop the music and bow "thank u thank u" and then continue the music and put the soft toy in front and sit down the chair and clap as if the soft toy is dancing.

And finally everyone finish dancing, she will say " i so tired and she would put everyone down on the floor and lie down imitating to sleep.

That is my Alicia! Starting another phase....

This year my 3 year old we decided not to open a big party. Just a mini celebration so we invited 外公，外婆，啊姨，舅舅，舅母 and bb candice for a home dinner at hm and we cut cake together.

Mummy decided this year cake to be Barney since i like watching barney so much. My prev bday i got a hello kitty and mickey mouse clubhouse cake so mummy decided it time to let me have the cake i like. I was so happy that i keep requesting to see my cake. Everyone brot me presents and I was so happy!

My Alicia is 3 Years Old now!

Time really fly fast! I recall when she was just 2 Years old and I was thinking the meter at my blog to 3 years is still so far away and puffed 1 year has passed. 1 Year many things has changed. She stopped schooling for almost half a year, we got a maid to take care of her, she becomes so talkative and playful, she is more healthy now, she is more independent and glad to say many of her bad habits like beating people and bad manners has gone away for now. We still keep our fingers crossed that she behave well and grow up to be a useful person. She also have 2 new cousins in this year and she is a big sister now.

I recall the days where she was just a baby and her first day bringing her home was a nightmare as we didnt sleep at all cause she refused to sleep. It was a new experience for me and my hubby,everything was new and we have to learn everything of taking care of her. Many times, there were differences taking care and sometimes we quarrel, it was a challenge for us to take care of her. The usual peaceful and freetime that we used to have are no longer there for us. Time becomes not enough, we sometimes neglect the closeness we used to enjoy. We become tiring and start to quarrel for some things we disagree on. It sours the relationship. However we learn something which always helps. If its not life threatening,sometimes giving in,closing one eye and compromising makes things easier. We are also a parent now, our child is totally dependent on us physically and mentally. If we let go our spouse because of this, end of the day,the one affected is the child. Remember the good points, forget the bad points. Marriage is not just me and you anymore, cause the day u decide to have this baby its about them too.

Giving the child the best may be good but sometimes if we learn to give in to each other, helping each other, taking care of a baby will be a breeze. Lately I have a lot of friends who just turn mummies experiencing this problems, they become frustrated with their partners, or just fed up with parenthood where their children are just infants which I just wana share with them -Many of the experienced mummies always says endure the first year and time will get better ...When time past taking care of them will be easy ad the fun starts to kick in. Now I think back and think its not so bad after all and Alicia was afterall an unforgettable experience I will never forget and regret when she was less than 1 year old.. Now Alicia is still such a joy for us now. I am happy when she is happy. Her smile and happiness will just tell me everything is all worth it!

Every mummies and daddies Endure! Also dont forget your spouse! Think for each other,help each other to make parenthood an enjoyable one~

Thanks everyone for the birthday presents. I am really happy whenever I receive a birthday present.

2 Presents especially I really like are Mummy and Daddy present.

Daddy bought me a Cat Saving Box. This Saving box is especially very interesting and it also helps me to save. I just jump with joy when I see the cat eat my coin. I just need to place a coin and press the button and the cat comes out and eat my coin. When I see this, I would jump for joy and beg for more coins to put inside.

Mummy bought me a Mickey mouse digital camera which is children friendly. She know nowadays I start to take photos with mummy iphone so she though she could get me a camera so I can snap all my memories into the camera. Now I bring my camera along and start snapping everyone. Would share with my pictures in future posts.

Learning to dance ballet

Mummy and daddy brought me for ballet classes.It was pretty cheap and had a free trial lesson so why not.

We will lucky that Bella jeijei could handover her old clothes to me and i need nt pay the expensive clothes.

I went to the trial class and attend the ballet lesson. There were many kids like me and i was so happy.

I was all attentive of the lesson

End of the lesson, mummy ask me u like dancing and i said YES! I will be back for more. Yipee!

While looking for enrichment classes as Alicia is soon turning 3, we went to see Bella jeijei ballet class. Bella jeijei pass down her old ballet clothes if i am goin to join her dance in the ballet class.

We went hm and try and i really like them. I am a ballerina~

But gt to take a trial class to see if i really can dance ballet so we will get inform soon of the trial class.

Its been a long time~~~

Its been such a long time since mummy blog. She actually wrote 2 entries during lunch time one fine day in her iphone. Unfortunately her current company is situated in a location(Tuas) where 3G is very weak and my 2 entries just dissapear after uploading and I gave up as my lunch time was over.

Her current company was pretty good, the users are pretty nice and time fly fast over there and the best part is if she dont need to do overtime, she can easily reach home before 6pm and play with me. Hopefully things will go great and crossing her fingers every day. Nowadays mummy and daddy brings me more often to fly kite and playground which I can spend time with them. Sometimes I would meet Samuel (my neighbour) and we go cycling and play together..
I am also a big jei jei of my 2 cousins now. Time flies fast. I am now talkative and constantly learning very quickly. Soon I will turn 3 years old, wonder how should I celebrate~ Hmm....

Joy of DSLR

Mummy just got a DSLR camera. It's a pretty low end model costing at $499 only after a discount of $150 from the GSS Sales and instalment of 12 months (Lolz... no money) but its enough to grab the essence of photograph that she wants. When mummy has more money,hopefully she can get a better zoom lens with a powerful aperture.

Speed and Aperture was what mummy was looking for... Taking photos for me has always been a challenge since I was a baby. To grab the sudden smile or happiness and joy, mummy's old camera always ended up blur and couldn't make it. The clarity or effects DSLR provides are amazing .

But having a DSLR doesn't means you get instant results. In the beginning stage,mummy couldn't understand how to work with this camera thus all her photos looks very normal or worse than a normal camera. Luckily there was a free class from Sony and after attending, her pictures will improving day by day and practice makes perfect thus day by day getting more and more satisfying photos. Hopefully will improve and make fully use of the photos.

After getting DSLR is not enough,editing also plays a good part out of it like making the photo to sepia or B&W color,increasing the brightness should it be too dark, contrast,saturation,tone,and even removing pimples to futhur improve the picture. Before After

While mummy is still learning, and hopefully will have more better photos in the future... Yipee!

Happy Daddy's Day

Last Sunday,we went to celebrate Daddy's Day with a nice dinner at Ichiban Boshi and took some photos. we just bought a DSLR Camera and it will be a good opportunity to take some photos together. Last Year this Father's Day we will celebrating in the hospital as last year Alicia got pneumonia and was hospitalised. 1 Year passed and we will glad this 1 year Alicia wasnt hospitalised. Now keep our fingers crossed for the many years to come and Alicia will be asthma free. Now she staying at home free from virus is really good cause it will prevent her from getting sick.

Everyone had a happy day eating and walking around.

Its been long since I talk about Alicia and she been growing so fast.

Some common verse she will say or ask is:
"What Doing? So Many and count how many are they" "Everybody sleeping already"
She loves to do everything on her own and she makes the effort to take her own rice for lunch. brush her own teeth and wear her shorts. She is day trained. She imitates the commercial and she is really scared of the imaginary "Uncle" which we have been using it to trick her behaving herself. She is really scared of the naughty corner which is so much effective then caning her. There is so much to talk about her but I cant finish.Hope everyday is a learning phrase and she will grow to be a useful gal.

Hi! Just some updates of my developments.

Well the obvious one is maybe i really like taking photos and can make many poses.

I am day time potty trained already, although mummy is a bit worry for accidents especially during napping but i am still learning thus its ok to make mistakes.

Mummy understands about 70% of what i am saying now which i am still improving everyday.

I have just got a cousin candice and another one coming soon.

Most importantly. I am growing every single day and i am going to be 3 soon.

Daddy bday celebration

To celebrate daddy birthday, we celebrate daddy birthday at universal studios.

It was well worth paying as we enjoyed so much especially qiqi. Moreover qiqi is free so we need to take action soon before next time we need to pay for her in the future.

Although there were a few rides we couldnt take together as qiqi is too short, we didnt regret bringing her as she was so happy makes me even happy.

Her giggles and fascinated faces were all worthwhile even if i miss the rides.

Daddy played the jurassic park ride and was all soke wet. Pew luckily we brought clothes along. Everyone jus need a change of clothes

Universal studios Singapore

Lately USS launch a after 7pm of $2 tickets to visit the Hollywood part of USS. Since lately mummy work hasnt been smooth and we didnt hv much things to do that day, we went to q for the tickets. The q was still ok. Daddy and mummy took turns to q while the other look arnd. Here r some of the pictures to share.

Strangely unlike other US that mummy and Daddy visit, this globe doesnt move.

There will a few stores that will pretty interesting and definately u wont find in mainland sg

While it take 40 min to q, the waiting time was nt so bad and we quickly got out of the q with tickets.

We got in and although we couldnt get in the main park, the hollywood area was pretty fun with shopping and could see it was definately different from the normal attractions SG has.

At the finale, the were fireworks and music and atmosphere was around us. Its just too bad the weather is not cold to enjoy and the surround sound is not strong enuff compared to other USs. But we certainly enjoy our night and will come back again for the main park. Meanwhile signing off with this pic.....

Alicia updates

Its been 2 weeks alicia is with auntie sutika. So far ok and alicia starting to accept her. To let us have a pc of mind we recently add on an additional dlink ip camera which we can check via iphone and internet which really helps a lot. Sm candid pics of them.

This add on camera really help us a lot and save a lot cause its a one time charge which us great! Who wants to monitor for me drop me a sms ok but only open to inner relatives and with hubby approval. Haha wait can see we dig nose... Lolz.

Long time no update

Hi all. Mummy hv jus changed job lately and it so much tougher than before thus really don hv time to update my blog for me.
But hope everything will be fine and her effort does not go to waste and she can work happily in the new enviroment.

So with a little bit of time in the bus now, mummy will update a little bit.

My favorite verse for everyone now is "mummy what doing or daddy what doing?" ask until daddy and mummy are immune liao.

I like to sing a lot now and cooking and drawing is my favorite past time.

As off today i am officially school less, right now me taken care by 外公 and new maid who reach less than a week. With all options down, Mummy and daddy is keeping fingers cross hope no problem and "auntie" aka the maid can take care of me. So far so good. Everyone cross your fingers ok!

Mummy decided to try making pineapple tarts and made till late night. As mummy hvn bathe soon all the tarts started to bcm out of shape cause keep rushing. Surprisingly they taste really good!

I nod and say ＂好吃 !"

奶奶lately been coughing very badly and this 2 weeks been very breathless. So bad that she was admitted to hospital. Luckily 伯伯brot her to hospital while hving weekly dinner，奶奶 is so much better now。 hope she can get discharge soon.

Few days ago i was bitten by unknown creatures while i was sleeping.i was so itchy i had to bathe at 4 am and applied a lot of mopiko.

Qiqi Report Book for the Year

Its been over half a year Qiqi has attended childcare and now we receive her report book for the year. She has really learn a lot in the childcare and make some frens who take care of her really well.

But the problems lies with childcare easily gets sick and wherever Alicia is sick, mummy and daddy has to take leave to take care of her and as this has greatly affect mummy's and daddy's work performance, not only that, Alicia suffers whenever she caught a disease from the school. For example the lately diarrhoea,she diarrhoead for 1week plus and it takes 2 weeks for her to recover. You cannot imagine how painful she is everyday and her buttock is so sore and now there is still some scars around her buttock.

Lately there was a virus craze of 4 HFMD, and 7 chicken pox cases at her school and still it continues to increase and she was even suspected HFMD and had to stay home for 1 week. Luckily it was a false alarm but this few incidents has greatly lose the ability of having backup caretakers whenever she is sick. Mummy and Daddy has no more leave, mummy's work performance becomes so bad, either the care takers is too weak to take care of her or no longer keen to take care of her as its affecting their daily lives..

There isn't any alternatives for mummy and daddy to choose at all and they can only pray hard every single day she doesn't get infected by these diseases lingering around at her childcare. We can only gamble her health and pray hard she is not the lucky one to get infected.

Mummy and Daddy feels Alicia have already enough pain to go through whenever she falls sick. And she has asthma and every chances of her falling sick leads to a very high chance of an asthma attack. And with no choice, a decision has to be make and is to withdraw her out of school and employ a maid to take care of her. Its a painful decision as we have seen great improvements from Alicia and she truly enjoys going school but without the support of caretakers and risking her health whenever there is an outbreak of disease,this decision has to be make.

Having a maid means more tight spending and withdrawing Alicia out of school as we can no longer afford to pay for her school fees. Current situation we have only so little to spend on ourselves and now with a increasing person we hope we can tight through this period.

Time fly so fast. It’s been a year since I blog and ½ a year since Alicia went to Childcare. Indeed Alicia has grown a lot within a year and below I shall update what she have learnt in Childcare and the changes since then.

Her usual routine when she is back from home is take off her shoes and go to toilet wash her hands and legs.
She can wear her own shoes and socks at the right foot
She can self feed and self drink herself
Her vocabulary is getting so strong she can understand what we are talking and talk to us in English with 3-4 words
She can say 1-10 without assistance
She can beat the beat of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
She starts singing
She goes to school not crying and put her water bottle at the right place.
She draws circle and like to color
She like to play with her kitchen set and really imitate washing her spoon and giving mummy and daddy a cup of tea and cooking her food.
She can built something out from a lego set...etc

Indeed Childcare makes wonders.....

Busy October and November

Its been a busy and tired october and november for mummy and daddy. This past 1 mth I been sick initially with asthma cough then diarhhoea for almost 2 weeks. Poor me have to be feverish for quite some time and the diarhoea really make my buttock so painful you have no idea how painful it is for me that I have to stand sleeping.Mummy is praying hard I will be ok cause mummy and daddy will be leaving overseas with their band for a musical exchange and if I am sick they will not have the heart to go. Then mummy and daddy also had to prepare for the band preparations to go Japan next Saturday. Its going to be busy thus have no time to update for me. Put in some of the photos taken in November where I took bus and East Coast Park recently.

Auntie Kiyomi and Uncle Kenichi also just went back Japan during november permanatly and we are really going to miss them. Time really fly so fast. It seems like yesterday only when they came over. Time really doesnt spare anyone. Wish them all the best in whatever they do and one day when I grow up we will all go and visit them again!

Daddy always tell mummy she never see daddy's effort whenever he takes care of me but in fact mummy does. Now mummy will list out daddy's effort and thank daddy for being such a nice daddy!

- Every morning ,as daddy work later than mummy ,while mummy dress up for work he will change my diapers and dress me up for school.
-He fetch me back and bathe me after school
- Sometimes he will help mummy unpack my bag and top up the water that I need everyday.
-He accompanies me watch tv or play toys while we wait for mummy to be back.
- Whenever mummy needs help,he will try to make the effort to help.

This may be seems little but with everyday doing again and again, it helps mummy a lot and me and mummy deepy appreciate it

During Hari Raya, mummy book a free pass for 4 person from her company and brought me, daddy, jingsi and xiumei jei jei to the Zoo again. This round I appreciate the animals even better.

Upon seeing them, I will say
-crocodile
-tiger
-elephant
-shu3 shu3 (mouse deer)
-hippo
-fish
-goat
-rabbit and so much more

It was so much fun with 2 jei jeis, running around, imitating the sound the animals make and at the very end after playing with the water play, I was so exhausted and fall asleep. Share with u the photos..

Wai Gong Birthday!

August and September has so many people's having birthday. Mummy declares the reason why this is so is because November and December are holidays and people go holidays and have the mood to make babies. Hehehe.

Well,Yesterday is Wai Gong 60th Birthday so we all went to Zhou Kitchen Restaurant to celebrate. As usual mummy's craze to design her own cake recently together with daddy, we made a toto cake with random numbers at the side. So it depends on luck on which number u see them.

We start the cake rolling first before hitting on the chinese buffet.

Well in the end, the food was so nice or we are too hungry we forgot to take the photos of the food. Opps. everyone was just hungry especially when the chilli crabs are out.

Me just chase for the ice cream and desserts! Yummy!
